The Anuri 16 (pronounced ann-ur-ee) is a return to our roots. We have integrated the current technology of the modern stitch and glue kayak with our original designs. She’s as fast as the wind so we named her Anuri, the Inuit word for wind. This is a beautiful hard-chine boat with some striking improvements over other hard-chine kayaks.
The hull is a hard-chine with a modified v-shaped bottom. We have inserted a small flat panel (keel) onto the bottom centerline of the hull. This feature offers better maneuverability and greater stability. It also reduces the width of the bottom panels, thus decreasing the flex and increasing the hull strength.
Another unique feature of this hull is a fish form chine line which helps to improve her tracking. The sheer is swede form, allowing paddlers to more easily take a vertical power (paddle) stroke. For the Anuri to mimic a finely tuned multi-chine hull, we have created a stress tension in the bow and stern, improving strength while allowing a smooth entrance and exit.
The cockpit has plenty of room and the large hatches hold loads of gear. The rear of the cockpit is low for those paddlers who enjoy practicing their rolls. The deck rises quickly to give you more leg and foot room so you can comfortably fit up to size 14 feet under the deck!
The Anuri 16 tracks perfectly, paddles great and easily performs nimble turns. You can turn her flat or you can lean her and carve crisp turns. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced paddler, you will feel at home in the cockpit of this beautiful craft.
